Not at Home

This work is called Not at Home; it consists of a ring connected by red thread to the stitched slot inside an old ring box. The title has unexpectedly come to reflect the way I store it. My work often travels, either by courier or carried by me, so I wrap the piece in multiple layers. I first wrap it in tissue paper, put it in a plastic bag, and then use bubble wrap to fill the space inside the box. I place it in a small box labelled with the title of the work. The box feels “ready to ship.” I can immediately recognise it, pick it up, and quickly send it on its next journey.
